LAB In-Person Meeting: Advent Swap – December 2026

The final in-person meeting of the year, as usual, will be held at Mash Paddle Brewery – 92 Enid St, London SE16 4AW.

We will be running our annual LAB Advent Swap!

• Anyone can take part (please do!), but this is not the time for bad beers – this is the time to bring your utmost best, meticulously crafted showcase brews
• Particularly for novice brewers, I stress this doesn’t have to be something fancy with 15 mash steps, 30 hop additions or with magical ingredients that you spent a month hiking through the Andean wilderness to obtain – aim for quality first, everything else second
• You will get back as many beers as you bring – the more people take part, the more unique the selection
• We encourage a minimum of 12 bottles/cans
• You can bring more than one, but please focus on quality over quantity
• There are no stylistic restrictions or recommendations, anything goes

If you’re planning on bringing a beer for tasting, please bring at least 2 litres so there is enough to go round the whole club for samples. You are welcome to bring more than one beer, but if there are too many beers to fit into the evening we may only have time to sample one of them.

Meeting Schedule
18:30 – Arrival, registration, grab a beer
19:00 – In-depth assessment of 4-5 beers (specific feedback/help with addressing a fault/no feelings spared critical analysis/etc.)
20:30 – Grab a beer, prepare for second tasting session
20:45 – Tasting session, general feedback on 5-6 beers
22:00 – Wrap up & clean up
