London Amateur Brewers

London Amateur Brewers

The homebrew club for brewers of all levels based in and around London. We meet monthly, come and join us.

Next Meeting: Monday 1st July, 2013

Our next meeting is on Monday 1st July 2013 in the usual place: the Draft House, Tower Bridge.

This month Paddy Johnson from the Windsor an Eton Brewery will give us a talk on “Extreme Beers”. It is a pleasure to have a commercial brewer to come and join us for an evening, so it’s not to be missed.

Unfortunately we have had to postpone the speciality malt trial tastings until October so this month we will have general Members’ Tastings.

If you have any news items that you’d like to bring to the Group, then please let Paul know in advance. Similarly, if you have a brewing question for the Q&A section that you’d like to be answered by the Group, would you please submit it to Paul as soon as possible. It will then be added it to the agenda and put to the group during the meeting.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

18:00 Arrive and get a beer
18:30 Introductions, news & updates and Q&As
19:00 Extreme Beers – Paddy Johnson, Windsor and Eton Brewery
19:30 Top-up break
19:45 Members’ Tastings
21:30 Meeting to close

For Members’ tastings, would you please email me (paul.spearman@ntlworld.com) to book a slot in advance. You’ll need to bring at least 4x500ml bottles to make sure there is enough to go around the group. Don’t forget to bring along copies of the BJCP Style Guidelines, and the tasting notes sheet. If there is anything else you would like added to the agenda, please let Paul know.

The Draft House are very kindly giving us a 10% discount on our drinks, so don’t forget to ask for it.

The next meeting will be at the Great British Beer Festival on a day/date to be decided.
