Hello fellow brewers
Our next meeting will be at UBrew, Arches 29-30, 24 Old Jamaica Road, London, SE16 4AW on Monday 9th May.
This month is our annual Hayesenbrau competition. The theme for this year’s competition is lagers. If you are bringing an entry, please ensure that you bring at least 2L to share among the group. Unlike our regular tasting sessions where we ration the beer among our members, you may find it beneficial to be a bit more generous with the amount you bring, to improve your chances. 😉
Any lagered style is appropriate for entry, and we have a special guest Ben Ott from 40ft Brewing to help guide us on style appropriateness.
Brew Club are also providing a prize and some glasses – so more incentive to bring your best beer forward!
As there are a large number of entries, we will be splitting them across several tables, with each table having the job to promote the best 2 beers for general consumption.
It is usually not practical to give feedback on beers during this competition, but please pre-register your entries with our score card app and coordinate with Vincent Clifford.
If you have any news items that you’d like to talk about, bring them to the group. Similarly, if you have a brewing question for the Q&A section that you’d like to be answered by the group bring it along and we’ll discuss it.
I would ask that anyone who is making a beer for the Toast Ale session in June, confirm if their beer will be ready or not.
There is no formal tasting session this month.
The rough agenda for the meeting is as follows:
18:30 Arrive and get a beer
19:00 Introductions, news & updates and Q&As,
19:30 Hayesenbrau Competition
22:00 Meeting to close
