Our next meeting will be at UBrew, Arches 29-30, 24 Old Jamaica Road, London, SE16 4AW on Monday 7th November.
This month our guest speaker is Mark Crumpton of Erben (http://erben.co.uk) who will be introducing some of the Laffort yeasts. These yeasts are used in wine making, and he wants to explore their application for beer making with the group. He will bring samples along for brewers to take away and explore.
If you have any news items that you’d like to talk about, bring them to the group. Similarly, if you have a brewing question for the Q&A section that you’d like to be answered by the group bring it along and we’ll discuss it.
Please remember to bring in at least two litres of beer if you intend getting feedback from the whole group during the formal tasting session.
We will be sticking to collecting feedback through table spokespeople. If you want to volunteer to be a spokesperson approach one of the setup crew or the chairman before this kicks off.
Also please announce on the forum if you intend to bring a beer or not stating:
In practical terms we are limited to about 8 beers for general sampling, in the event that there is too much, preference will be shown to those who have reserved a place.
We ask any BJCP & Guild judges to please wear your badges if you are willing to taste and give feedback to anyone during the informal session.
Anyone who wishes to swap beer at the meeting, please bring your labeled bottles and deposit them in the container provided. Usual rules apply:
