Our May 2018 meeting will be at UBrew, Arches 29-30, 24 Old Jamaica Road, London, SE16 4AW on Monday 14th May (as Monday 7th May is a Bank Holiday)
This month is our annual club competition, the Hayesenbrau. The theme of this year’s competition is SMaSH beers (SMaSH = Single Malt and Single Hop). All entrants should bring 2L of their competition entry, and an additional bottle (of any size) if they want their entry to be assessed to BJCP standards. The winning beer will be decided by popular vote.
The competition will be preceded by an instalment of LAB’s irregular ‘Show Us Your Kit’ series, where 2-3 LAB members will give a short presentation on their home brewing setup and techniques.
There may be some limited time for members tastings after the competition. Please ensure that you bring 2L of your beer, and that you post in the forum your intent.
If you have any news items that you’d like to talk about, bring them to the group. Similarly, if you have a brewing question for the Q&A section that you’d like to be answered by the group bring it along and we’ll discuss it.
